[ about the Blogger ]
I am a graphic artist.
A designer.
A communications consultant.
I love people. I also love the perfect mango and rainy days. I love finding the perfect color – just when I think it doesn’t exist. And I love feeling a printed project in my hands when it’s just come off the press – feeling the product of my ideas. I love emails that simply say “perfect” and I love my iPhone. I love mail and I have an obsession with looking through magazines to get inspired. I love blue (my hair is blue) and I am madly in love with my dogs.
I’m not a typical designer.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Political Communications from the George Washington University (Go Colonials!). I am a fanatical National Public Radio listener and a political news junkie.
Several years ago, I got bored. It’s not unusual for me. I went back to school and became a certified web developer and then joined the Design Communication Arts program at UCLA Extension. But I think my design skills come naturally. I’ve been drawing and designing since I was little – making my own fashion magazines with construction paper and colored pencils.
With my new love and skill for design, I started my own business. I started heavily in web and spent a good chunk of time developing niche skills in email design and marketing. But I quickly grew into print and have spent most of my time in print since. I have an eerie fascination with paper.
But I think what I love the most is identity design. Working with a product from step one. Helping a business design their first logo (or sometimes 10th, by the time they reach me) and designing their business cards, website and advertising. Like planting a seed and watching it grow. I love it! I love what I do. And I am sincerely devoted to meeting my clients’ needs. I am seriously obsessed with my business. And I am obsessed with great design. That’s me.
