For those of you wondering what her name means, here is the story (so everyone doesn't ask us, again):

Chispa was named, once again, by the first word out of Jon's mouth. "Chisperita" is a nickname/term Jon has used for me (and goodlooking women) for years. He doesn't remember where he learned it, but he's heard that Chisperito was a cartoon character. Anyway, like we do to all other words in our relationship, we shortened it and have been using the word "Chispa" for a while now. When we bought our new puppy and were driving home, Jon called her a Chispa... and there you have it.

As it turns out, Chispa also means "spark" in Spanish. And Beble (although spelled differently) means "bible".... So we've now got a spark and a bible at home - you have no clue how accurately this reflects their personalities. This should make for an interesting family.

Already, Chispa has shown us her lively personality. She and Beble, although friends, couldn't be more different. Beble is a mamma's girl - quiet, loves people, timid and tame. Chispa, on the other hand, has already proven in one week that she will be a handful. Although she is house braking well - she loves to chew wires and cords, bark up a storm, cry, bite and drag Beble by the ears and steal food, toys and anything from Beble. She and Beble love to play, but Chispa dominates. It's a riot.

Plus, as we discovered much to our suprise today, she has managed to figure her way out of her 3'x5' pen. She's brilliant! She weighs no more than 5 pounds and isn't any taller than 8-10 inches. Yet - she has figured out how to climb the fence of her pen (using her feet in the holes to prop her up) and hop out. The pen is at least 2 1/2 feet tall! She's amazing. Jon's been calling her Chispa Copperfield! We've had Beble for 5 months and she's never even attempted to find a way out. Go figure we've got a wonderdog!

Please welcome Chispa to the family!

Love,

Jessie and Jon

Isn't she the second cutest thing you've ever seen! And she looks so innocent here. Little does the view know that she's about to jump up and pounce on Beble. Five pounds versus ten pounds....

They share toys - not by choice. Beble can pick up any toy, and Chispa will come and steal it. Doesn't matter what it is, if Beble has it, Chispa wants it.

They play a LOT! Here they're dancing around the patio. You can see that their tails are wagging a million miles an hour - as usual. Their butts can barely keep up.

Chispa taking a near bite out Beble. We see this a lot!

Kisses!
